TUXEDO ETP, is a transaction manager for commercial open systemsapplications, provides client/server communication in an enterpriseenvironment. Allows more users to be serviced by a smaller number ofservers, without performance degradation. Based on the X/Open DTPStandard, provides traditional TP Monitor functions: transaction routingand management, prioritization, load-balancing, transparent networkingand expedited processing in an open, distributed, heterogeneous computingenvironment. TUXEDO's architecture extends transaction management toclients operating on PC services offered on proprietary systems. IMCTUXEDO also offers enhancements such as language support for C++ and Ada,static or shared libraries, tunable spinlock timing for optimizedthroughput, message queue block diagnostics and inter- faces for popularindustry GUIs. Currently available on 30+ platforms and 28 differentoperating systems, which includes IBM hardware types PS/1, PS/2, RS/6,9370, 43XX, 30XX, ES/9 and IBM software including AIX, MVS, MVS/XA,MVS/ESA, VSE Ports to AS/400 hardware and Open Edition MVS 5.2.2 are alsoin process. IMC is also porting its Open TransPort Communica- tionsGateway and expanded management service products to MVS 5.2.2 to allowthe S-390 to be a hub in a UNIX TP network and provide the UNIX developeraccess to S-390 services.
